Core Values / Operating Principles of Programme

In conducting its business, the NRWRP will apply the core values of the organization, so that over time these will define the culture of the organization for stakeholders.  These values are:

  1. Community based – broadening the base of the production process and providing jobs and opportunities for entrepreneurship or sustainable livelihood.
  2. Partnership driven – Maximizing beneficial partnerships in the development and operation of the programme, including partnering with communities and state organisations.
  3. Sustainability – Applying practices to facilitate a sustainable environment.
  4. Efficiency – Applying systems designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  5. Transparency – Encouraging clear and unambiguous practices and policies in all aspects of operations.
  6. Impact/Outcomes driven – Significant reduction of denuded lands, ensuring the maintenance of bio-diversity, improvement in the condition of watershed areas and increased carbon sequestration. As a consequence, there would be reduced erosion of hillsides, reduced flooding of lowlands and reduced siltation of water courses.
